When do we collect Data?
We collect data when you:
- Use our websites
- Make an application for a loan provided or financed by us
- Hold a loan provided by or financed by us
- Hold a loan administered by us
- Have an interest in a property which has a Green Deal Plan attached
- Contact us
You authorise us to use your data in the way set out in the Full Privacy Notice by using our services, products, and website. If you include another person’s information when engaging with us, you need to have their permission to do so.
What data do we collect?
The types of Personal Data collected by us, directly or through third parties, include:
- Internet Cookies that track your use of our website or application, known as Usage Data
- First and last name
- Email address
- Physical addresses
- Date of birth
- Records of calls/emails made by you to us
- National Insurance numbers
- Data to assess credit risk
Where do we receive data from?
We may receive information about you from other parties. These may include:
- credit reference agencies
- Green Deal Providers
- energy suppliers
- fraud prevention agencies
- public bodies (including Government and its agencies)
- Ombudsmen services
We may also share your information with these parties.
Why do we collect data?
We do this so that we can:
- accurately assess customers for credit
- prevent fraud and money laundering
- manage existing loans
- provide good customer service
- satisfy our legal and regulatory obligations
How long do we keep your data?
We only keep your data for as long as necessary. The exact length we keep it for will depend on the purpose for which we collected it. We will still hold your data when a loan ends, or if you are declined for or don’t take up a product. This won’t be for ever, but for as long as is genuinely needed for business reasons, preventing fraud and crime, or other legal and regulatory reasons.
What are my rights?
You have the right to know if your data has been stored and what data we hold of yours. You can always ask our Data Protection Officer to find out about the type and content of the data and where it has come from. You can request amendment to it concerning its accuracy, to make the data anonymous, or to change or delete the data although we may not be able to comply with your request if there is a reason why we need to hold the data. We do not support “Do Not Track” requests.
Will you send me unwanted messages and marketing?
We may message you by post, telephone, text, email, and other ways. You can ask us to stop or start sending you marketing messages at any time, by writing to us or by replying to the messages we send.
